One of my earliest teachings in life was that we all had a Guardian Angel who watched over us. During our First Communion classes, we learnt the prayer:
Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day,
be at my side
to light and guard,
to rule and guide. Amen,
The thought of each one of us having a Guardian Angel has always brought me comfort. Later in my adult life as I explored the concept of angels more thoroughly, I learnt that our angels are always present but we must ask them for help. They will not barge into our lives. They wait for us.
I find comfort in knowing that my Guardian Angel is only a thought away and that I can ask for help. And you know what? I have discovered that there are many more angels that are available to us. We just have to learn how to tune in and connect with them. In times of need, crisis or desperation, hold the thought of an angel in your mind. Even if you don’t know much about angels, I am sure that one will bring comfort to you.
I have a couple of angels in my garden. This one sits quietly amongst the flowers and never fails to bring calm to my spirit. When we purposely place objects in our environment to have a positive effect on our minds, we can move our lives from a place of feeling low to experiencing the highs of life.
For me, images of angels bring joy and calm to me.
What about you? Do you believe in angels? What other symbols do you use?
