As hard as it may seem… choosing love over hate, frees your soul.
The thought that God loves me unconditionally gives me permission to the same for others. A wonderful friend of mine called a few days ago to ask me how I am able to always find good in people, without judging them and meeting them wherever they are in their lives. My personal philosophy is that we are all people in-progress…. moving towards the light. Our paths are different. A person’s bad behaviours doesn’t not define the whole person. The worst person you can find has good in them. I am so far from being perfect… but God’s love does not judge me based on my perfections. God’s love also embraces my imperfections. This love is so pure and is not dependent on anything I do or don’t do. That love sustains me and is constant in my life. When I think of judging another harshly, I look inwards myself. Because what I see in myself, I see in others. Our lives and journeys go beyond what we see in the physical world. In the spiritual world, only love exists. Hate carries too heavy a price for me to bear. I choose to send love back to everyone because I know for sure that in the grand scheme of life, all what I give to the universe comes back to me a hundred fold. I live love – it is that simple.
Free yourself from holding grudges against others. It is not worth the precious time we have to enjoy this beautiful planet. Take ownership for your life. Make it a beautiful one.
Each day I set small and big goals for myself. Sometimes, it is as simple as cleaning one closet or doing a facial or calling a friend. Sometimes it is as big as setting a goal to go back to school. Today, I start a new goal which was planted 15 years ago – to be back at university. I am starting my new MA program – Masters in Migration and Diaspora Studies.
Look out for my next post where I will talk more about my journey and how I eventually got to living this goal.
What I know for certain, is that we have the capacity to set and achieve our goals.
An easy way to elevate your energy and vibration is to create a clean and inviting space where you love. It opens your heart and soul to receive. Any form of cleansing is an invitation for newness and rejuvenation.
Happy Sunday and wishing everyone a beautiful day. In my part of the world, it is raining. After a restful morning in bed, we had a lovely brunch and then I ventured to do some cleaning – putting away summer stuff and preparing to welcome another favourite season – Fall.
There is something profoundly beautiful about cutting flowers from my garden and bring them indoors. It lifts the space immediately. An easy way to elevate your energy and vibration is to create a clean and inviting space where you love. It opens your heart and soul to receive. Any form of cleansing is an invitation for newness and rejuvenation.
One of my soul projects at the start of Covid-19 was to develop my digital skills and have the confidence to do some live shows and bring together like minded people over zoom to share views on various topics! This has kept me busier than I could have imagined but it is reinforcing for me that “when we are aligned with our soul mission, everything falls in place!”
We are at the end of another week and I want to wish everyone a Happy Victoria Day weekend! Victoria Day is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25 in every province and territory. It honours Queen Victoria’s birthday.
I will be missing the Tulip Festival very much this year but I am happy to have some tulips in my front garden! Here are some photos of my tulips.
Summer is my favourite season. No question about that! Yesterday I was bursting with happiness as I shopped for soil and compost and gleefully landed the bags on my lawn! The summer months feel like a huge open canvas which I can decorate and paint as my mind, soul and heart merge in a harmonious symphony with nature. I cannot wait to get my hands in the dirt, rearrange my plants, discover what is popping above ground from the many bulbs which I planted last summer. I have already identified the garlic plants! I am super excited that I will be harvesting garlic this summer! I have lots of seeds to plant – lettuce, onions, peppers, tomatoes…. and all this planting will start this weekend!
One of my soul projects at the start of Covid-19 was to develop my digital skills and have the confidence to do some live shows. I also wanted to facilitate some soul-discussions over zoom and were able to do a couple of great ones including ‘The Global Connect’ which brought a group of amazing artists together! We also did another one with Wilson Jn. Baptiste, exploring the Power of Language During Covid-19. There are more to come! This has kept me busier than I could have imagined but it is reinforcing for me that “when we are aligned with our soul mission, everything falls in place!”

I know that deep, profound gratitude has the power to transform human thoughts and emotions.
My poem on Gratitude from 2003.
I know that deep, profound gratitude has the power to transform human thoughts and emotions.
Many years ago, when my life seemed to be upside down, I got two pieces of advice from different books which I read which transformed my world.
1. Be grateful for everything in your life. The good, the bad and the ugly. Learn to give thanks in your darkest hours.
2. Everything which you focus on EXPANDS!
As I started to find things to be grateful for, things magically shifted in my life – from ugly to good and then to great! My thoughts about gratitude expanded. More joy flowed in my life. Whatever I needed, appeared by magic! I seemed to be dancing with the universe all the time!
Here is a poem which I wrote at the end of that dark time in 2003. Back then I had a vision to capture words on photography and I accidentally met a photographer – Chad James, who also wanted to use some of my words against his photographs. We did one piece and another friend mounted it on canvas for me several years later. I have it hanging in my living room and thought I would share it with you.
As we navigate through this turbulent time, it is important that we do not allow the challenges and fears to drown us. Rather, we need to exercise personal leadership by taking action with the things we can control.
So many changes are happening in the world right now that is hard to keep up. For me, I had so many successes to celebrate but before I got to really embrace those successes, there was coronavirus getting right in the way of my plans. I had to cancel two flights, four speaking engagements and let go of some wonderful opportunities which I was really looking forward to! The changes were all happening so quickly that my emotions were bobbing up and down – sometimes leaving me completely exhausted. Being a sensitive and intuitive person can be hard on my system because I can feel the energies of others all around me. Fear feeds fear – it generates more fear!
Today, I felt re-energised. Our work in transitioning to online services seem to have fallen inplace – at least we are ready to execute our first two workshops tomorrow! Our online team meeting today proved how effective online learning can be and the power of a team pulling together to make the transition effective. It needs planning, preparation and time to execute it to perfection but it is possible. I love the challenge and the great minds I work with and I am grateful for the 100% onboard mentality – YES – WE GOT THIS!
I think that we live in an interconnected world which can offer many opportunities, even though there are also many challenges. In the process of responding to a crisis, we learnt some new skills and we have made ourselves more marketable for future opportunities!
As we navigate through this turbulent time, it is important that we do not allow the challenges and fears to drown us. Rather, we need to exercise personal leadership by taking action with the things we can control. Simple things that we can do while staying indoors: find some happy things to do such as getting out in nature and having some long walks, conference call people whom you have not connected to in a long time, indulge in some self-care, read a good long novel, watch movies, join an online program, prepare for an exam which you want to take, spend quality time with your family.
While it is important to pay attention to the facts around the coronavirus, we must not become so fearful that we end up hurting ourselves or that we add more darkness into the universe. Let your light continue to shine by remaining rooted in your faith, being positive and being proactive in doing the right things for yourself and your neighbours.
Life has a way of sorting itself out… this too shall pass. BUT DO PLAY YOUR PART IN CREATING A SAFE SPACE FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

I know for sure that angels surround me, protect me and bless me. I know for sure that the universe bends its laws for me. I know for sure that miracles exist because the force of God lives through me, expands outside of me and touches heaven and earth, darkness and light, peace and chaos…all together for the Glory of God.
Last week I realized that I did not have my driver’s license which I needed for an important task. After a thorough search in jacket pockets, shelves, purses – everywhere I could look, I surrendered it to my angels to find it for me. The problem was not just not having the license but the timing of what I needed to do with it. That evening when I surrendered it, I received a message from my friend Christina Hearns who said that she found my license at her house, where I was a few weeks ago. I have no idea how I managed to leave it there. However, the timeliness of it could not be more perfect and I stand in deep gratitude for the presence of earth and heavenly angels in my life. I know for sure that angels surround me, protect me and bless me. I know for sure that the universe bends its laws for me. I know for sure that miracles exist because the force of God lives through me, expands outside of me and touches heaven and earth, darkness and light, peace and chaos…all together for the Glory of God. Surrender what is bothering you today. You are never alone and the one who created you out of nothing, made worlds out of nothing, knows YOU more than anyone will ever know. Find the miracles of life all around you and grow your faith beyond what your eyes can see and your ears can hear. Deep, deep within you, lies a force, a presence, a knowingness… and when you touch it, nothing will ever be the same again. #miracles #gratitude #surrender #faith #trust #perfectioninGod #angels
Fall is here for sure making way for winter where soon those trees will be standing naked yet unshaken at the roots. Just as I enjoyed every single day of summer and savoured the greenery, I embrace fall and all of it’s offerings.
It is early morning and I am sitting on my couch in the living room wrapped under a cozy blanket while the rest of my household sleeps. I feel grounded and safe. I feel blessed that we enjoyed a delicious meal last night and gave gratitude for the many blessings in our lives – for family, friends, good health, our jobs, income, progress with our various project and most of all and being able to overcome and deal with the challenges which come our way.
I enjoy listening to the conversations around the table – any dinner time is a time to catch up on the thoughts and experiences of our lives and how we make sense of the world around us. One of our highlights during the evening was celebrating the 2nd birthday Maggie, Ohri’s dog. It was hilarious watching her reaction to the kids trying to get a birthday hat on her head! Maggie has become a part of our family and it is a pleasure to watch how her presence bonds all of us in our family.
My gratitude for life keeps on overflowing.
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” Eckhart Tolle
As I write this blog, the early morning light is awakening as the darkness vanishes. It is magical watching this slow and beautiful transition from night to day. Through the glass door, I can see the thousands of fallen leaves in the backyard and the beautiful fall foliage in the forest beyond edge of my backyard. Fall is here for sure making way for winter where soon those trees will be standing naked yet unshaken at the roots. Just as I enjoyed every single day of summer and savoured the greenery, I embrace fall and all of it’s offerings. For me, it is a beautiful season of reflection, building and creating from within. I love the fall colours, the crisp fresh air, apple pies for Sunday dinners and the feeling of Christmas being just around the corner. I know that as soon as Christmas is over, we will start preparing for Spring and I can’t wait to see my first tulips burst from the winter blues. Each season brings it’s priceless gifts and I am grateful to be alive on this earth, enjoying all what the earth offers to me. More importantly, I have found immense joy in remaining present in the moment, while my mind can also stretch into the future and look forward to the next season.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones. Here is one more quote to reflect on:
“The world has enough beautiful mountains and meadows, spectacular skies and serene lakes. It has enough lush forests, flowered fields, and sandy beaches. It has plenty of stars and the promise of a new sunrise and sunset every day. What the world needs more of is people to appreciate and enjoy it.” Michael Josephson
