The Rain Won't Stop Because You can't Handle More…

The rain won’t stop because we can’t handle more neither will the birds stop flying whether we like or dislike them. The sun will come out each morning and the darkness will take away the light of the sun, whether we like it or not. The nature of life is just that – we did not create it nor will we stop it despite of what is going in in our personal life.

We cannot imagine what anyone’s worst pain is or their greatest joy – to each his /her own. At some point in our lives, we get to realize that nothing is so personal – everything is simply a thing which is not temporary or permanent – it is just what it is.

I like to think that I am on my path and everything or everyone who shows up collides with me or I collide with them. We hang around for a while, we part ways, we skirt around each other to avoid the collision but ultimately we will all collide with who and what we need to, to accomplish our life purpose.

The sooner our little, egoistic minds can let go of all that “I am being affected” “‘Why me?’ “I don’t deserve this” the sooner we step into the ever flowing stream of life to be with what is. Don’t stress over life… all of life existed before you and I appeared for a little holiday here… and all of life will continue with or without us.

Learn how to dance in the rain and make lemonade with lemons; learn how to go deeper into yourself to find your own worth when no one else can see it. learn how to be at peace with yourself with what you have, not what you don’t have.

Best of all, learn how to be the rain and the sun…UNSTOPPABLE.

Can you see it? You are part of the life force and just as the sun can’t stop shinning, you too can’t be stopped from BEING and LIVING your purpose.

Choose your path… at the end of it all, that is all what you are responsible for.

Are you manifesting what you truly desire in your life?

“Wait, I have something for you.” My neighbour told me as we chatted between our two houses, on a snow covered lawn.  Wilson and I had arrived home just at the same time that she and her son Damon, drove in. Since being back home from Rwanda, we had barely seen them.  She quickly slipped into her house and came back with a poinsettia plant, in full bloom.  “I got this for you to support Damon’s club’s fundraising drive.” she said.  Damon is her 7 year old son whom we are very fond of.

I walked inside with the poinsettia bloom and the only words which popped into my head were, ‘How beautiful it is to manifest from thought!”

poinsettia

A couple of days earlier, I was at the Home Depot and wanted to buy a poinsettia plant.  I talked myself out of it because at that moment, I could not quite figure out exactly where I would place it in the house.  The plants seem to be a bit too big for my space.   I decided that I would try to find a smaller plant.

Damon’s mom, gave me exactly the size of the plant which was a perfect match to my space.   It could easily fit on the table or on a little stand which I have in my living room.

There is something magical and reassuring about manifesting things or experiences which I really want. It makes me feel that the universe always has my back, even in the smallest ways.  How can a poinsettia show up for me, when all I did was decide that I needed a smaller plant, instead of a big one.  I said ‘No’ to the big plant quite freely.

Well… I just said it, this is one part of the magic of manifestation – DECIDE.  What is it that you want?  To say YES to something, means that you have to say NO to something else.  To say NO to something which is not in alignment with you, creates SPACE to say YES to that which you really desire.

I have noticed some trends in my life that when I am not sure about what I want or what to do, I seem to manifest exactly that – confusion, indecision, contradiction! Being undecided is also being decisive. The  universe gives me exactly what I am thinking and feeling.

What I have learnt, is to be mindful of the messages, emotions and attitudes which I hold moment by moment. In each moment, we have the poser to choose. We can all begin with clear thinking, a deep heartfelt desire and take both small and big actions to manifest our desires.

Here are a few questions for you to think about:

  1. How do you experience life?  As a negative or positive experience?
  2. What shows up in your life?  Happiness?  Contentment?  Joylessness?  Confusion? Stress?  Lack of support? Lots of support? Helpful people?  Unhelpful people?
  3. What do you give back to life?  Support?  Love? Joy?  Happiness? Joyfulness?
  4. What do you sincerely want to manifest?  A job?  A better job? A home?  A better home?  A caring family?  More money?  More time?  More self-care?  A larger table?  An education? Travelling experiences?
  5. Try to develop a vision of what that thing you want.  What does it look like?  How does it feel? Can you write it? Draw it?  Get a photo of it?

I know for sure that I (and all of us) hold the magic of manifesting our desires by unlocking the right doors to our thoughts, emotions and actions.  Unlocking those magical doors can increase our manifestations but it requires the discipline of constantly taking note of what is showing up in our lives and making quick decisions about what we CHOOSE to KEEP and what we CHOOSE to RELEASE.

In my next post, I will look at 10 things which we can do to increase our vibrational frequency and manifest more of what we desire!

10 ways to improve your life by being kind

Kindness is the most beautiful gift which you can give to another and it makes you a magnet for wonderful opportunities and lasting friendships.  Overall, your life can significantly improve by simply being kind! Kind thoughts, words and deeds have an invisible force in the universe which has no logical explanation!  Those who experience and live kindness, are happier and more fulfilled human beings because they understand their connection to this universal energy.

Why is kindness so important now?

If you think about your experiences over the last week, I am sure that you will recall some incident of unkindness in your family, at work, online, in the community or in the bigger world where you don’t live!  The  universe is suffering from a deficit of kindness right now. The solution is that each one of us must take responsibility to deposit acts of kindness in the world for a better tomorrow.

“Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” -Albert Schweitzer

Kindness attracts kindness. It costs zero dollars but can earn huge profits!

Here are ten small things which you can do to show kindness:

  1. Be kind to yourself first. Show appreciation for yourself by taking care of your beautiful body. Our bodies love it when we show it love. Movement, fresh air, clothes to fit our personalities, a nice hair cut, an extra touch to remind yourself how beautiful you are.  Look in the mirror every day and thank your body for showing up with you every day.  Affirmation:  “I am kind to myself.”
  2. Be kind with your thoughts. Watch your thoughts and you will notice patterns. Our thoughts can be our biggest enemy.   Are you thinking good thoughts of yourself and others?  Do you get frustrated easily?  Do you think other people are annoying? Are you having an ongoing mental chatter that leaves you feeling anxious and aggravated? Affirmation: “I think kind thoughts of myself and others.”
  3. Be kind in your judgements of others. Let judgements go as much as possible.  We are all work in progress and we are on our unique journey. Sometimes we may not understand why people do what they do… but hey… you don’t need to be unkind towards them.   Affirmation:  “I release any harsh feelings which I have towards others.”
  4. Be kind to those who don’t celebrate or enjoy the holiday season. Not everyone feels happy during the holiday season.  For some people, it is a very difficult time – they may be grieving from loss, they may not have the financial means to have an enjoyable holiday season, they may be missing loved ones… it is important to get to know the people in your circle and understand their particular context so that you can respond to their needs.  Affirmation:  “I understand and appreciate you.”
  5. Be kind when connecting to others. Make time to connect and reconnect with those who are close to you. This can happen in the form of a telephone call, a letter, a social media message, a visit… but let them know that you are thinking of them.  Bring up pleasant memories.  Give them a compliment. Say something nice to them. Affirmation:  “My family and friends are important.  I feel happy connecting to them and I establish good vibrations.”
  6. Be kind to those in your family.  Is anyone feeling stressed?  Unhappy?  Do they need a small act of kindness to bring joy in their lives?  It can be as simple as asking, “What can I help you with today?” or as reassuring as, “Why don’t we go to the movies this evening?”  Everyone needs a little kindness.   Affirmation: “I am kind to each member of my family.”
  7. Be kind to strangers.  cup of coffee?  A smile?  A conversation?  A new social media connection? “Affirmation:  I am kind to strangers.”
  8. Be kind to your friends who are entrepreneurs. Many small businesses need the support of family and friends to keep their doors open. You can buy their products, share their products on social media, let your network know about what they are doing. Affirmation: “I support local businesses.”
  9. Be kind by giving away something everyday. You may have stuff that no longer serve a purpose in your life but it can mean the world to someone else. It can be a book, flowers, money… you will be surprised at how amazing  you will feel… and how much more will come back into your life. Affirmation: “I feel wonderful sharing my time and wealth with others.”
  10. Be kind by genuinely listening to others. Genuinely ask others how they are doing and listen to what they have to say without completing their sentences or making them feel that they need to hurry up their stories.   Chose a time to talk, when you don’t feel rushed – this will help you to feel more at ease.   Affirmation: “I genuinely listen to others.”

Do you have a mindset which will make you gasp when beauty touches your soul?

DSC07389

I make it a daily practice to look for miracles, opportunities and the simple pleasures of life that sometimes show up unexpectedly!  I have a mindset to find joy in the ordinary and make moments extraordinary by seeing them through the eyes of my soul.  Little blessings add great pleasure to my day and I often find my heart bubbling with joyful music as my senses become more and more immersed in its natural home of gratitude.  How blessed I feel at the end of every day to be part of this amazing universe, the beautiful souls  who I meet in my daily journeys  and the thousands of angels that dance all around us, urging us to let go of our anxieties and love our planet unconditionally.

Our lives are busy and chaotic with much to get done at the end of every day.  The price of not meeting our obligations can be high and this leads to a high level of stress. However, we can claim a lifestyle of less anxiety by consciously shifting our MINDS and EYES to see the beauty around us, through our souls. Have you ever found yourself gasping because something is so beautiful, so inspiring, so dynamic, so alive, so fun, so exhilarating, so “WOW!”

The quickest way to expand our souls is to find beauty that speaks to our soul frequently.

Here are a few things which have brought delight to the eyes of my soul.

Look at this flower below… isn’t it just perfect!  I couldn’t take my eyes off it.  Every single petal looks perfectly placed. Nature is so divine! How more beautiful life could be if we can all embrace that divine perfection in all things around us!

On my way to the office yesterday, I  found GRAPES!!!! They were growing over the house of the owner of a sandwich deli and I was completely blown away that right in the middle of Ottawa, I found grapes! To stumble upon such treasures lifts my spirit a hundredfold… I skipped all the way back to work!

On a hot summer day, a cold, cold, cold beer is so delightful!  I completely enjoyed this Mills Street Organic beer in the Ottawa Market. Don’t rush home after work… take a few minutes to enjoy sitting on a patio somewhere and just soak in the sun and enjoy the buzz of people around you!

A good pizza is still a classic for a fun party!  This one was delicious with the beer 🙂

Look at this rack of bikes… what a great idea to make bikes available us to ride around the city! Just hopping on one in the middle of the day can re-energize you completely!

Cluster of flowers

A field of black eye Suzans right across from my workplace!

Doesn’t this tree hold hundreds of stories?  It sits along the St. Lawrence River, Upper Canada Village and if it could talk, I can only imagine the stories that it would share of love and war.

And the fun part at the end of a day was just hugging the little bear at Sugar Mountain!
